Join Red Land Youth Basketball by volunteering in roles that support our players and events. Whether coaching, helping at games, or managing behind-the-scenes tasks, your involvement strengthens our community and enriches young athletes' experiences.

Coach: Leads practices and games, teaches fundamentals, and models positive sportsmanship.


Assistant Coach: Supports the head coach with instruction and game management.


Team Parent: Helps with communication, snack schedules, and team coordination.


Gym Supervisor: Assists with facility setup, scoreboards, and game‑day operations.


Committee Member: Supports league operations, events, and administrative tasks.


General Helper: Assists with clinics, evaluations, tournaments, and special events.

Develop Coaching Skills

Volunteer instructions

How to Volunteer

You may sign up to volunteer in two ways:

  • During registration on TeamSideline by selecting a volunteer role.
  • Anytime during the year by emailing RLYB at info@redlandyouthbasketball.org.

Volunteers will receive role assignments before the season begins.


Clearance Requirements

All volunteers must complete Pennsylvania background checks as required by state law and West Shore School District policy. Clearances must be valid and approved before volunteering. Clearances must be less than 5 years old at the time of submission.


Required clearances:

  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • PA Criminal Background Check
  • FBI Fingerprinting or PA Volunteer Affidavit (based on residency)


FBI Fingerprinting vs. Volunteer Affidavit 

Volunteers who have not lived in Pennsylvania for the past 10 consecutive years must complete FBI Fingerprinting.

Volunteers who have lived in PA for 10+ consecutive years may submit the PA Volunteer Affidavit instead of fingerprinting.

Submission Format

All clearance documents must be submitted as PDF files. Please download each clearance as a PDF before sending or uploading it. Other file types (screenshots, images, Word documents) cannot be accepted.


Submitting Clearances

Clearances may be uploaded through TeamSideline or emailed to RLYB. Volunteers will be notified once their clearances are approved.
